Travelling to Agia Napa
It is possible to bring your own car to Cyprus for three months, provided you
have a valid registration license. If you do so, you will need to utilise one
of the car ferry services offered between the island and Athens, Rhodes, Patmos,
Crete and Israel. You may drive in Cyprus using either an international or standard
driver's license.
There is currently no rail network on Cyprus. However, if you are coming from
Europe or the UK, it is possible to reach the island using British or European
train systems in combination with ferries.
Cyprus has a comprehensive bus service connecting most towns and villages at
a reasonable cost. There are several buses that run daily between Agia Napa
and Larnaca. There are also efficient taxi shuttles that run between towns.
Larnaca International Airport is closest to Agia Napa, at a distance of six
kilometres. There is also an airport at Paphos; both airports receive international
flights from Europe and the Middle East. Taxis run from Larnaca Airport to the
town centre.
By sea, you can reach Israel and Greece - ferries run frequently to Athens
and less often to Rhodes, Patmos and Crete. To reach the Greek Islands, you
will usually need to make a connection from Athens.
