Travelling to Biarritz

Travelling by car, Biarritz is a major thoroughfare for the Basque country. From Paris, take the A10 south to Vierzon, change to the N20 south to Limoges, continue on the N21 south to Tarbes, and finally turn west along the N117 to Biarritz.

The most popular way to get to Biarritz is by high-speed TGV train, via Bayonne. The rail station is 3kms south of the town centre. There are 10 trains a day to Bayonne and several to Paris. Trains also run frequently to San Sebastian in northern Spain.

If you want to take in some scenery, an ideal way to travel is by bus. Buses are frequent and reliable but better suited to shorter regional journeys. Buses depart throughout the day from the central bus terminal.

The airport at Biarritz can be quite busy, but flights arrive only from other European cities, so if you're coming from afar you will have to go via Paris, Madrid or other centres.
