Travelling to Cork

Cork is easily accessible by air, ferry, bus and train. There are two airports
nearby: Cork Airport is located just 6 kilometres south of Cork and Kerry County
Airport is located just off the main road between Killarney and Tralee. Bus
Eireann operates a 'Air Coach Service' to and from Cork airport to the bus station
at Parnell Place in Cork. Buses depart roughly once an hour and the journey
time is about 25 minutes. Taxis are also convenient, with journeys to Cork costing
roughly €10. To reach the airport by car, take the N27 and follow signs
to the airport.
Swansea Cork Ferries operate a ferry and passenger service from Swansea to
Cork, as well as to other destinations in Europe and Ireland. The ferry journey
is overnight and takes about 10 hours, docking at Ringsakiddy Ferryport, which
lies 16 km south-east of Cork city centre.
Highways exist between Cork and Dublin, with main routes to Limerick, Killarney
and other towns in the south, though they don't handle heavy traffic well and
can be dangerous. None-the-less the drive is pleasant.
Bus Eireann operates extensive bus services in and out of Cork, with connections
throughout Ireland. Irish Rail has a limited network but connects Cork with
Dublin with.
