Dublin Airport (DUB) is the principal gateway to Northern Ireland, handling
frequent UK and international (including trans-Atlantic) flights. Situated just
ten kilometres north of the city centre, Ireland's major point of entry exposes
the carefree charisma the country is famous for.
The single terminal handles all arrivals and departures, with its 13 check-in
areas located on the first floor. 15 million passengers passed through Dublin
Airport in 2002 heading to and from 74 scheduled destinations.
Bureau de change and ATM's are located in both the arrival and departure areas,
while other facilities include a baby care nursery in Boarding Area B, a pharmacy
on the departures level behind check-in areas five and six, a post office in
the car park atrium open 9:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings,
a shoe shine service, left luggage service, and Dublin Airport Church located
one-minute's walk from the arrivals door.
Numerous pubs, cafés and restaurants are found within the terminal and
boarding areas, including Bewley's Café, O'Brien's Sandwiches, Café
Ritazza, Ritazza Mezz (self serve restaurant), McDonalds, and the Gate Clock
Bar.
A good range of shops and duty-free outlets are available offering cheap Irish
whiskey and malts, handicrafts, tobacco, clothes, confectionary and travel supplies.
Hughes and Hughes offer a great range of books and magazines.
The Anna Livia Airport Club offers business facilities to member and guests,
including phone, fax and photocopying and a meeting room (Tel: (0)1 814 4521).
Facilities for disabled passengers abound and include lifts with Braille buttons,
an induction loop and minicom system for the hard of hearing (MINICOM Tel: (0)
1 814 4613), and specially adapted toilets and dedicated car park spaces on
the ground floor of the multi-story car park.
The airport information desk, provided by Aer Rianta staff, is situated in
the Arrivals Concourse. It is open from 06:00 - 23:00 daily.
