Travelling to Dublin

Dublin International Airport is located 10kms north of the city centre and has direct connections to most countries in Europe, as well as major cities in the US. Also, regional airlines service flights from most Irish cities, as well as other UK destinations.

AirCoach makes trips to and from the city centre every 15 minutes, 24-hours a day. Airlink Express Coach service provides express coach services to Dublin's main bus station, Busaras, and two main line stations, Heuston and Connolly Street stations. Taxis are also abundant, with journeys to the city centre costing around £15-20. There is no rail link to the airport.

Dublin Port is served by two ferry companies: Stena Line and Irish Ferries. Both companies offer services from Holyhead, on the Isle of Anglesea. Dublin Port is only minutes away from the city centre and can easily reached via taxi or bus.

Dublin has two main line rail stations: Heuston Station, which services the south and west of the country, and Connolly Station, which services the north and north west of Ireland.

Exiting the city by car is pretty straight forward and traffic isn't too congested in this country of 5 million, however the network of motorways is underdeveloped, meaning a longer, but more enjoyable wander through the countryside roads. Major routes exit southwest to Limerick (N7), west to Galway (N4) and North to Belfast (N1).
