Travelling to Padova

Italy is best seen by car, especially if you plan on visiting several towns and
outlying areas. To reach Padova, take the A4 west from Venice.
Rail is the easiest mode of transportation if you're coming from Venice, Milan,
or Bologna. Trains arrive from Venice once every 30 minutes; the trip time is
30 minutes and costs €2.25 one way. Trains from Milan run every hour, taking
2 hours, 30 minutes and costing €10 one way.
Padova's main rail station is Piazza Stazione, which is north of the historic
core and outside the 16th century walls of the city. From here, a bus will connect
you to the centre of town.
Buses from Venice arrive in Padova every 30 minutes. The trip is 45 minutes
and costs €2.80 one way. There are also connections from Vicenza every
30 minutes; that journey is 30 minutes and costs €2.80 one way. Padova's
bus station is five minutes from the main rail station.
Located just 12kms from Venice, Marco Polo Airport is the main hub of European
and national flights to the region. It is easily accessible by land or water,
and when it is occasionally blighted by fog, airplanes land at nearby airports
in Treviso or Verona. Marco Polo is one of the busiest airports in Italy, and
a new three-floor terminal, which can cater for up to six million passengers
per year, recently opened.
