Travelling to Rimini
Italy has an excellent network of motorways (autostrada), designated by the letter
'A'. The main north-south link is the Autostrada del Sol, which links Milan with
Reggio Calabria in the 'toe' of Italy. Speed limits on motorways are 130kph for
cars of 1100cc or more and 110kph for smaller cars.
It's easy to reach Rimini and other cities in the province by car. From Milan,
take the A14 (Bari Motorway). Exits are: Rimini Nord (for Bellaria - Igea Marina,
Santarcangelo, and centres in the Marecchia Valley); Rimini Sud (for Rimini);
Riccione (for Riccione and Misano); Cattolica (for Cattolica and centres in
the Conca Valley).
By rail, Trenitalia State Railways services the area; the main railway station
in Rimini is the Piazzale Cesare Battisti. Many routes pass through Rimini:
Lecce-Ancona-Bologna-Turin-Milan; Bologna-Verona-Brenner Pass (for Munich);
Rimini-Rome (direct); or (via Falconara) Rimini-Ravenna-Ferrara.
If you're traveling by air, nearby Rimini-San Marino International Airport
offers flights to and from all major cities in Italy as well as some in other
European countries. There are direct daily flights to and from Rome and Milan
as well.
