Geography of Vicenza

Vicenza is strategically located in the heart of the Veneto Region, a marvellous
region rich in architectural beauties, and the hub of the Italian northeast
industrial phenomenon. The city is sandwiched between the two popular cities
of Venice and Verona, either of which is just 30 minutes away by car.
Vicenza is not merely an urban centre but is also a province of an incredible
variety of landscapes, made even more precious by the beauty of its charming
towns like Asiago, Bassano del Grappa and Marostica.
The Asiago plateau to the north is an ideal place for mountain holidays; while
the Berici Hills are a rich agricultural area where nature reigns with its colours,
flavour and tastes.
North-eastern Italy includes the Venetian plain, a continuation of the Po valley,
and a mountainous zone (the Venetian Prealps, parts of the Dolomites and the
Carnic Alps). It borders Austria to the north, Trentino-Alto Adige and Lombardy
to the west, and Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna to the south. To the east the region
is limited by Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the Adriatic.
