Travelling to Rotterdam
    
Rotterdam is well-located 75kms south of Amsterdam and 23kms southeast of The
Hague, and is easy to get to via all forms of transport. By car from Amsterdam,
take the A4/E19, and then the A13/E19 into Rotterdam. There is a direct link with
Paris and Brussels via the A1 from France and Belgium, and then the A16 into Rotterdam.
From Berlin, take the A2 and A30 on to the A1 and A28 in Holland.
There are frequent train services to Rotterdam from around the Netherlands,
and from Paris and Brussels. Trains arrive at Rotterdam Central Station. From
Amsterdam to Rotterdam, there are at least two trains every hour around the
clock, and the trip takes 50 minutes. From the UK, Eurostar trains run directly
to Brussels' Midi Station, where high-speed trains leave for Rotterdam.
Rotterdam can also be reached from all major European centres by bus: Eurolines
has a regular service from London's Victoria Coach Station. The ferry crossing
will be included in the price, with the same coach taking you on to Rotterdam's
central bus station.
Rotterdam's Zestienhoven Airport is only four kilometres north of the city
and has good direct connections with fast check-in times to a growing number
of major European cities (including London, Hamburg and Milan). Bus number 33
will take you to and from the city centre and a typical taxi costs €25.
The city is also within easy reach of Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam (one of
Europe's largest airports). If you're coming from afar, Schiphol will be the
cheapest and preferred entry point into the Netherlands. From Schiphol to Rotterdam,
there is a fast train service costing 13€ and taking only 30 minutes.
The Hoek van Holland sea-ferry terminal, for car ferries from Harwich in England,
is 20kms from Rotterdam and has good bus and train connections. P&O North
Sea Ferries has regular connections from Hull in England to Rotterdam's Europoort,
which is 30 minutes from town.
