In an attempt to revamp their image with a more modern look and feel, Holiday Inn has poured £600 million into a worldwide re-launch of its brand, including 50 hotels in the United Kingdom alone.  The famous hotel chain is hoping to add more consistency and modernity to in its more than three thousand locations worldwide.  The re-launched hotels are enjoying a 5 percent raise in occupancy rates over the older versions of the hotel chain.

Holiday Inn is part of the Intercontinental Hotels Group, one of the largest hotel groups in the world.  “Reaching this milestone in the current economic climate shows our owners’ commitment to the relaunch. In tough times people look for value and quality - this is what the Holiday Inn relaunch is delivering,” said Kirk Kinsell president of IHG’s President of Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

Better bedding and a relaxed, comfortable environment are the cornerstone to the re-launch, which also includes changes to the logo, and other amenities which are unique to Holiday Inn.  Holiday Inn has also created a unique scent which will greet guests upon entering the hotel, as well as in hotel music which will change tempo throughout the day.

Holiday Inn hopes the changes can help it stay afloat during trying times for the travel industry.
