Creates £50,000 Sport Relief Facebook Campaign

by Jessica MCILHINNEY on March 19, 2010, a top website for money-saving vouchers and deals, has kicked off a Facebook campaign to help raise funds for Sport Relief, which is a biennial charity event that is organized by the British charity group Comic Relief. Until midnight on Sunday, March 21, will donate 10p to the charity for every Facebook user that becomes a fan. Their goal is to donate up to £50,000.

Along with helping to fund a charity that gives aid to vulnerable Brits and other vulnerable people in some of the poorest countries in the world, fans of the Facebook page will also get news sent to them about the latest deals from specialist and high street retailers. The website features offers for tons of companies, updating the deals in real time. Some of the retailers include: First Choice, Marks & Spencer,, Tesco, Argos and more.

“Sport Relief is a fantastic cause and we are willing to donate up to £50,000 to aid the charity. However, it is up to the public how much we spend - the more people who become fans, the (more) money we will donate!” says managing director Simon Terry. He adds, “Becoming a Facebook fan now has a double incentive, with anyone registered being amongst the first to receive news of the latest money-saving offers, plus up until midnight on Sunday, registering ensures that we will donate even more money to Sport Relief.”

Anyone that wants to support this cause and get vouchers to save on everyday shopping can become a fan by visiting the Facebook page. Simply go to, and find the Facebook link on the right and down the page about halfway.
