Europcar Introduces High Rewards Program

by Alister POOLE on August 27, 2009

In effort to make car rental more affordable as well as increasing the ease of accessibility, car giant Europcar has announced its High Rewards program for frequent drivers of their rented cars.   Customers who rent a car more than once or twice a year can expect savings of up to £200 per week from the new rewards program, which hopes to benefit customers who are loyal to Europcar’s fleet.

The travel and tourism industry at large has reported huge losses over the last two years, as concerns over the global recession, coupled with fears over the outbreak of the swine flu virus, have many customers choosing to stay home, instead of risking travel.  This has car hire agencies like Europcar, which is the biggest car hire agency in Europe, looking for more creative ways to draw in customers and keep them coming back.

These loyal customers are exactly what the agency hopes to entice, offering sign ups online, or at any branch.  The future of companies like Europcar may depend on their ability to keep customers loyal.

“27% of Europcar customers hire because they are worried about the reliability of their own car, 21% because their own car has broken down and 24% require a bigger vehicle. Furthermore, 23% hire because they don’t have a car. We want these customers to keep coming back to Europcar by offering Hire Rewards,” said Europcar’s Marketing Director Catriona Lougher.
