Las Vegas continues to soar and score

Vegas is going decidedly up, both upscale and upmarket with the exciting new Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, in MGM Mirage’s CityCenter. Wowing guests first up is the amazing Sky Lobby.

The check-in lobby inside the boutique-size nongaming hotel is on the building’s 23rd floor, offering customers a panoramic view of the Strip and the rest of the $8.5 billion CityCenter through floor-to-ceiling windows. The 47-storey Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas has 392 rooms and suites, ranging in size from 600 square feet to stunning 3,000 square feet. The building also has 227 residences, which will be accessed by a separate entrance and elevator from the hotel side.

Also new or soon-to-be-opening in Las Vegas is the CityCenter aria, the hotel/casino combination which will be the gaming centrepiece of CityCenter, with two inspiring glass curved hotel towers and a whopping 150,000-square-foot casino. Planned opening is December 2009.

HOTEL32, another new boutique hotel at the top of the Monte Carlo Hotel Casino, will have its grand opening on 10 August. Designed to give every guest the celebrity treatment, perks include a limo ride from the airport and a dedicated “Suite Assistant” to cater to your whims.

Finally, The Palazzo which had its opening in 2008 has just announced the opening of AZURE, a luxury pool concept that incorporates spa treatments from Canyon Ranch, snacks from Wolfgang Puck and fashion shows on Saturdays.
