Premier Inn joins Amadeus network

Premier Inn has announced the signing of a new global distribution deal with Amadeus.

The partnership will allow Premier Inn, the biggest hotel chain in the UK and Ireland, to sell its 580 properties across the leading hotel booking system worldwide.

The utilisation of Amadeus will enable the Premier Inn group to continue with its recent expansion plans, both within the domestic sector and to the key strategic markets of Spain, Italy, France and Germany. The new arrangement will also see the group attract a wider base of business customers to their global locations now that rooms are accessible via Amadeus’ 103,000 worldwide sales points.

As the local leader in terms of budget hotels, Premier Inn is now ideally placed through the Amadeus deal to capitalise on European holidaymakers who are searching for quality and value for money hotel accommodation. Recent sales figures have suggested that holidays to European destinations will grow by around 2.4 per cent in the remainder of this year, and then leap significantly to a level of 3.8 per cent growth in 2011.

The distribution partnership deal has resulted in the addition of more than 42,000 rooms to Amadeus from across the UK and Ireland under the Premier Inn umbrella. The low cost rates which are a feature of Premier Inn are hoped to provide ideal solutions for the many Amadeus subscribers, with budget-conscious travellers in both the leisure and business sectors increasingly trending towards cheaper accommodation as the slow pace of economic recovery affects spending habits.
