Travelodge Ireland drops room rates

by Alister POOLE on December 29, 2010

Travelodge Ireland has launched its largest savings ever with hotel rooms as cheap as €19 per night.

As the economy continues to suffer, it is rare that such savings are found in accommodation. Elsewhere in the UK, not many products retail for as €19, let alone a hotel room.

Yet, Travelodge Ireland has launched its biggest sale ever in the midst of austerity and post-Christmas recoveries. The offer extends to all 11 of the hotel chain’s properties in Ireland and will remain good for the remainder of 2011.

Launched on 29 Wednesday, Travelodge has begun advertising the reduced rates on its website. Already, people have booked to take advantage of the extreme savings. According to Travelodge Ireland MD Seamus McGowan, many people have already or are planning their holidays for 2011 through to Christmas break. He added that now, people can take advantage of the affordable sale to take a weekend break or staycation using the highly reduced rates.

The room rates are good for all Travelodge properties in Ireland. Mr McGowan said that it was expected that the sale would prove extremely popular, being the firm’s largest ever. With the weakened economy and austerity budgets kicking into action, UK residents and those arriving from abroad will be keen to see such savings.
