Travelling to Menorca

The fastest and most popular way to get to Menorca is by plane. There are many airlines offering frequent, regular flights from a number of points such as the other Illes Balears, mainland Spain and Europe.

Holiday charter airlines operate regular services to Mahon (Mao) from all of the major European airports. Visitors from transatlantic and other world regions connect via Barcelona or Madrid. Flights to the mainland are numerous, but most visitors arrive on package deals out of Europe.

Cars can be rented at the airport, or if you want to use public transport, you can take a taxi or the bus to Maó. Once in Maó, there are plenty of connections with other buses covering different routes on the island.

Menorca has sea connections with Valencia and Barcelona by means of boat and fast ferry. You can also get to the island by sea from the other Illes Balears.

For those with time on their hands, there is a fun alternative: drive through France and northern Spain, and then take the ferry out of Barcelona. The ferry sails overnight and can provide an excellent and adventurous addition to your holiday.
