Travelling to Palma

There are two train lines running from Playa de Espanya in Palma: one goes to Soller along the northwest coast - one of the recommended journeys on the island; the other heads inland to Inca. A third train connects Inca with Sa Pobla.

Palma de Mallorca Airport is located 11kms southeast of the city and has direct flights to and from all major European and many international destinations, though connecting flights from mainland Spain are often a more economical option. Package deals are the best value for money however. If you want to island hop around the Balearics, there are costly inter-island flights operating from Palma.

The airport is within easy reach of the town and there is a regular bus service as well as plenty of taxis. You can also get buses to the rest of the island from here. Many visitors arrive on package deals that include a shuttle transfer.

You can get boats and water taxis between the different resorts on the island itself. Car ferries from the mainland (mainly from Barcelona) to the Balearics run regularly. This journey provides some great views.
