Travelling to Seville

Road routes in and out of Seville are easy to follow and uncongested. If you're driving from Madrid to Seville, take the E-90 and head south towards Mérida; from there, head south on the E-803 to Seville. For an alternative route, drive south on the E-5 to Córdoba. After exploring Córdoba, continue southwest on the E-5 which will take you into Seville. These roads are all in very good condition and have low traffic density.

Trains arrive at Santa Justa station, a 10-minute taxi ride from the centre. Trains are available to and from main destinations throughout the country, including the east coast and its cities of Madrid and Barcelona. The hyper-speedy AVE service is the quickest way to cross this rather large peninsula.

There are two long-distance bus stations in Seville, with frequent service to and from the rest of Andalusia, the Mediterranean Coast and points north of the Sierra Morena and Portugal. Prado de San Sebastian is the main and most central of the two bus stations. Bus is the only way to get to and from the Algarve.

Seville's San Pablo Airport is well served by a range of domestic and international airlines. The busiest airport in the region, however, is at Malaga. Getting to Seville from North American destinations usually involves a change in Madrid or Barcelona. Some choose to fly to Malaga and catch the train.
