Mini guide to Birmingham Airport

Birmingham International Airport (BHX) provides a gateway to the British midlands with direct flights to numerous European destinations and connecting flights to destinations across the world. It is renowned for its business facilities and services, having won many industry awards, and handles over eight million passengers annually.

The airport consists of two terminals, the Main and Eurohub Terminals. Check-ins and arrivals are on the ground floor while departure lounges are on the first floor of both terminals. There are direct flights to major European cities while longer flights usually connect with London Heathrow or Gatwick.

Money exchanges are located in both terminals while ATMs are located on the ground floor of the Main Terminal. Left luggage can be found on the first floor of the Main Terminal next to Boots. Other facilities include nappy changing rooms, a 24-hour medical centre, coin and credit card telephones, and postal services.

There are several places for food and refreshments and numerous shops, including Burger King, Caffe Ritazza, Delice de France, Thorntons, Salisbury's, WH Smith, Spar, Sock Shop, Boots, The Body Shop and Dixons.

There are business booths offering credit card operated phone/email/modem/fax services in the departure lounge of the Main Terminal. A business centre is available in the Eurohub Terminal next to Travelex, providing photocopy, phone, fax, typewriter, word processor and secretarial services.

Disabled passengers are catered for with lifts, ramps, an induction loop system to amplify announcements, a Minicom system for the hard of hearing and staff proficient in sign language at the airport's information desk (tel: +44 121 767 7798/9).
