Travelling to Cardiff Airport
The nearest train station to the airport is Barry Town Station five miles away,
yet the main station serving the area is Cardiff Central Station, from where
connections can be made to and from the airport and major UK destinations. Cardiff
is served by regular, direct InterCity and Alphaline trains.
Several companies provide a comprehensive bus service to and from the airport.
Cardiff Buses offers Airbus X91, a dedicated airport service operating between
the city centre and the airport from 05:20 to 23.35 Monday to Friday. On Saturdays
the X91 and 95 operate from 07:10 to 00:12 and on Sundays services X5 and X91
operate between 08:15 and 22:15. Cost is around £3 one way. EST buses
also offer Service 345 operating hourly Monday - Saturday during the evenings.
Cardiff Airport is 10 miles away from the nearest major road, the M4 motorway.
Exit the M4 at Junction 33 and follow the A4232 until the first exit at Culverhouse
Cross. From here the airport is well signposted, following the A4050 and A4226
to Roose, 12 miles west of the city centre.
Taxis are available by making advanced bookings on 01446 710693. Wheelchair
taxis, holding two wheelchairs and up to six passengers, are also available.
Car parks, both long and short term, are manned 24/7 and come equipped with
CCTV surveillance. Payment can be made at machines situated in the car parks
and outside the arrivals hall, although you can save up to 25% on long-stay
parking by pre-booking + 44 800 128 128 (NCR). A free shuttle bus also operates
between the terminal and the main long stay car park for pre-booked passengers.
