What to see by foot: Cardiff
    
The whole Bay area is wonderful to explore on foot, with everything from shops,

Llandaff Cathedral has been built and ruined and restored many a time since
the 6th century and today visitor's can see the different mix of styles, especially
in the mis-matched towers. The interior boasts beautiful stained glass windows.
In the city centre lies Cardiff Castle, which was built on the foundations
of a Roman fort, with additions in the Norman times. The castle is extremely
opulent, with a mix of styles and periods. The interior is lavishly decorated,
with murals, stained glass windows and carvings.
In and around Cathays Park are Cardiff's architectural gems. The Civic Centre
is an impressive Edwardian building. Also of interest is the City Hall, which
has a domed roof topped by a dragon, the Welsh national symbol. The Law Courts
of 1906 are also nearby, as well as the National Museum and Gallery, which houses
an exhibit on the Evolution of Wales, as well as a the largest collection of
impressionist and post-impressionist paintings outside of France.
The Centre for Visual Arts, housed in the magnificent Old Library, is a haven
for artistic activities and displays outstanding art, craft, design and architecture
from Wales and around the world. It is a 'hands-on' gallery, where the whole
family can get involved in the fascinating world of art in a fun.
