Renowned as a place for London entertainment, Covent Garden is full of restaurants, pubs, bars, shops, museums, theatres, street performers and music. In the piazza and main pedestrian thoroughfare there are often street performers and musicians who always draw a crowd.. The world famous Royal Opera House is located in Covent Garden. Not only are the performances stunning, but also the building, built in 1858 and recently extensively renovated.

Covent Garden Market is also a popular place to browse and shop. Previously the old flower, fruit and vegetable market, it now features stylish shops, stalls and cafés. Here you can find anything from souvenirs and bric-a-brac to cutting-edge fashion.

Also located here is the London Transport Museum, a favourite with young and old. You can also wander the area's old cobbled back lanes to seek out curious shops and landmarks.

Located between Charing Cross Road and the Strand, Covent Garden is within a 10-minute walk of Leicester Square and Holborn tube stations, as well as Charing Cross Station. It also has its own Piccadilly Line tube station. The convenience of nearby banks and several hotels makes it a popular place to stay.
