Travelling to Edinburgh
    
Edinburgh is approximately 413 miles north of London and is easily reachable
by car by taking the M1 motorway from London, then connecting with the M6, after
which you take the A74 onto the A702. Edinburgh is also the motorway centre
to points all over Scotland.
Edinburgh and London are connected by the East Coast line, the fastest inter-city
railway in Britain, which links Edinburgh's Waverley station with London's King's
Cross station, as well as with points all over Britain. Trains for Edinburgh
leave several times daily from King's Cross and take approximately 4.5 hours.
There is also the alternative of the West coast route out of London Paddington
station, via Glasgow. Coaches leave Edinburgh's national coach station in the
city centre for the rest of Britain and beyond. There are daily departures to
Edinburgh from London's Victoria Coach Station.
Edinburgh International Airport is located seven miles from the city centre.
Flights arrive from all over Britain and some European destinations, and connections
are easily made to the rest of the world. The airport is only about a 25-minute
drive to downtown, depending on traffic. There is also an express bus service
to Edinburgh's city centre that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

drive away.
