Mini guide to Gatwick

Located in Sussex, 30 miles south of London, Gatwick International Airport is the city's second major airport and also a major entry point to the UK. Handling more than 30 million passengers a year, this modern efficient airport is among the world's 10 busiest.

Gatwick consists of North and South terminals, connected by a monorail. From here 70 airlines fly to more than 200 destinations worldwide. Both terminals handle international and domestic departures and arrivals, although the North Terminal has separate arrival areas for domestic and international flights. International arrivals take up-to 50 minutes to clear baggage and customs/immigration.

Facilities at the airport are extensive and include exchange bureaux (some 24/7), ATMs, airport information desks, shops, duty-free outlets, restaurants and bars. Extensive duty free shopping is offered including many well known outlets offering convenience items, reading material, health and pharmaceutical products, alcohol, music and clothes, as well as plenty of souvenirs. A post office is found in the South Terminal and an adjacent medical centre in Ashdown House offers immunisations.
