Mini guide to Glasgow Airport

Glasgow Prestwick International Airport (PIK) handles over one million passengers annually and offers direct flights across the UK and Europe. Its smaller size makes it a relaxing alternative entry point into Scotland.

The check-in area is located at the front of the terminal building while domestic arrivals and all departure lounges are located towards the rear of the building.

The airport information desk is situated on the ground floor outside the domestic arrivals area and is open for all flights (tel: 01292 511006). A Travelex bureau de change is located adjacent to the entrance to departures and is available to both arriving and departing passengers. An ATM can be found in the airport concourse. Baby care and child play area facilities, including an amusement arcade, are also provided for.

Hertz, National, Avis and Europcar all have offices located in the main arrivals hall.

A number of shops and restaurants can be found within the terminal building, including WHSmith, The Alloway Bar, Cloud 9 Café Bar, and numerous food and drink outlets in the Food Village food court. All shops and restaurants are open from 6am until the final flight of the day. A large duty-free store is located in the departures lounge, offering a wide range of Scottish gifts, whiskey, malts, cosmetics and clothing.

A business lounge is located in the terminal building, providing access to phone, photocopy and internet facilities for business travelers.

The airport meets EU standards for disabled passengers, with facilities including spacious lifts and stair lifts, disabled toilets, free wheelchair use and assistance and pre-boarding of flights for disabled people.
