Travelling to Heathrow

Heathrow Airport is situated just west of London on the M4 motorway and offers several easy options to get into central London.

The best and most efficient way is via the Heathrow Express rail link, leaving four times hourly and costing £15. The non-stop journey between Heathrow and Paddington stations takes about 20 minutes. Railair trains depart on the hour for stops at Feltham, Reading, Woking and Watford Junction.

The London underground has stops at Heathrow, one for Terminals 1,2 and 3 and another for Terminal 4. It is much cheaper (£4) but takes much longer (50-60 minutes). Both stops are found on the Piccadilly line.

There are regular coach links into central London, with A2 Airbuses providing services from all four terminals every fifteen minutes. There is also a hotel bus service, the Hotel Hoppa, operating from each terminal to nearby hotels.

Heathrow is located west of London on the M4 and is well signposted. Exit at Junction 4 for Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and Junction 3 for Terminal 4. Access to Terminal 4 is also possible from Junction 14 off the M25.

Taxis are available outside the arrivals hall of each terminal, ready to whisk you into the city, although it is expensive at over £40 a trip.

Heathrow offers four main types of parking on and around the airport grounds. These are: short-stay (up to 5 hours), long-stay (eastern perimeter - with free shuttle service), business parking and valet parking (booking essential: + 44 (01883) 340089).
