Leeds-Bradford International Airport (LBA) is located eight miles northwest
of Leeds and seven miles north of Bradford and forms a vital link for the area,
catering for over two million passengers annually and offering direct flights
all over the UK and Europe as well as connecting long-haul flights through Amsterdam,
Paris and London Heathrow.
The airport consists of a single terminal building, handling departures and
arrivals. Check-ins are situated in the main concourse.
Travelex have three bureau de change offices; at check-in, arrivals and the
baggage reclaim hall. Other facilities include a child play area (unsupervised)
provided by Airtours and a video gamezone in the international departures lounge,
a digital photo booth, and a baby change room located adjacent to the airport
information desk in the arrivals concourse.
Food and refreshments are taken care of by the White Rose Food Village located
in the departures lounge, where you can find a wide variety of hot and cold
meals, while the Yates and the Food Village can be found in the main airport
terminal open to everyone. The Yorkshire Hero Pub is located on the ground floor
of the departures lounge and serves traditional Yorkshire ales, while O'Brien's
Sandwich bar can be found in arrivals.
There is an extensive duty-free shop, as well as WHSmith selling books and
magazines, a newsagent, travel agent and gift shop.
Servisair executive lounge on the first floor of the departures lounge provides
business facilities including phone and fax services, complementary newspapers
a bar, and power outlets for laptops. The Diamond Club Lounge provides a bar,
phone, fax, and photocopying facilities.
The airport meets EU guidelines for disabled passengers, with services including
designated parking spaces (long-term rates available for disabled passengers
in the short term car park), specially designed toilets, complimentary wheelchairs,
numerous lifts and ramps and a hearing induction loop at the information desk.
