Mini guide to Liverpool Airport
 
Liverpool Airport (LPL) is situated a short distance southeast of the city
centre and handles over 1.5 million passengers each year, flying to destinations
across Europe and the UK (currently excluding London).
Its single terminal building handles all incoming and outgoing traffic and
is currently undergoing renovations and improvements. Check-ins are located
in the centre of the terminal concourse.
Travelex operates four outlets within the airport building: opposite the check-in
desks on the main concourse, on level three near the escalator, in the main
baggage collection area and in the arrivals concourse. Also at the airport you'll
find a video arcade and a prayer room on the third floor near the lifts. The
airport information desk and a tourist information centre are both found in
the airport's main concourse.
Food and refreshments are mostly found on the third floor where you can choose
from a range of outlets including Burger King, Aintree Food Village and the
Estuary Bar. After passing security you'll find the Food Fayre Restaurant and
the Daytripper Bar. There is also an airport bar located downstairs for those
waiting to board.
The third floor is where you'll also find most of the shops, including WH Smith,
Impressions (souvenirs including Liverpool FC merchandise), Gina (giftshop)
and the Boardwalk Shopping Mall selling electronic goods, clothing, music and
confectionary. After security you'll find Alpha duty-free, Boots the Chemists,
Sports Co. and Dabs.com selling a wide range of electronic goods.
The Cavern Suite is a meeting room providing conference facilities for businesses
and other groups, located on level two (0151 907 1510). The Business Lounge
offers complementary newspapers, food and beverages, and office desks and chairs
with phone, internet and laptop connections.
The airport meets EU standards for disabled passengers, with facilities including
an ambulift for easy boarding, wheelchairs, an induction loop system, dedicated
parking spaces, specially designed toilets and low-level telephones.
