Travelling to Liverpool Airport
 
The nearest train station to the airport is Hunts Cross, connected via Airlink
bus service 81A every 30 minutes. Airlink bus service 80A (108 on Sundays) links
the airport with nearby Garston station, leaving every 15 minutes. Both train
stations lie on the Merseyrail Northern Line serving regular trains to and from
Southport, Liverpool and local stations. Liverpool's Lime Street station offers
excellent rail connections to destinations across the UK. Airlink bus service
82A/B connects the airport with Runcorn train station every 30 minutes. Runcorn
station is seven miles away and lies on the West Coast Main Line servicing trains
to and from Crewe, Birmingham and London.
Along with serving Garston Station, Bus 80A also stops in Allerton, Mossley
Hill, Toxteth and Liverpool City Centre. From Liverpool coach station on Norton
St, you can catch coaches across the UK provided by the National Express Coach
Service. There is also an express bus service, no. 500, running every 30 minutes
from the airport to Chapel St, Norton St, Lime St, Queen Square Bus Station
and Paradise St Bus Station. The service operates between 05:15 - 00:15, leaving
at a quarter past and quarter to the hour. An express coach service runs every
20 minutes after each flight from Belfast from the airport to Manchester non-stop.
The airport is within easy reach of the city centre, located to the southeast
on the Mersey River. From the city centre take A561 towards Runcorn, where signs
will lead the way to the airport. From the M56 cross the river at Runcorn on
the A557 and drive along the A561, following signs to the airport.
Taxis operate from the airport, with the rank located outside the arrivals
hall.
Both short and long stay car parks are within walking distance of the terminal
building, while passengers can also be dropped off and picked up at the front
of the terminal building. The car park has recently been expanded.
