Mini guide to Manchester Airport

Manchester International Airport (MAN) is northern England's major air hub handling flights from all over the world and the UK, located just ten miles southwest of the city centre.

The airport consists of three terminals, interconnected by a moving walkway.

You will find money exchange outlets and ATMs through all three terminal buildings, run by Thomas Cook and Travelex. Other facilities include numerous baby change rooms, a children's play area in the departure lounge of terminal 1, a walk-in medical centre, a travel health clinic, postal facilities in the terminal 1 arrivals hall and a prayer room.

There is a huge range of restaurants, bars and eateries to satisfy all tastes, including Bar des Voyageurs, the Blues Bar, Starbucks coffee, Café Ritazza, O'Brien's Sandwich Bar, Delice de France, Burger King and the West Pier Bar. There is also a wide variety of shops before and after security, such as Boots, Salisbury's, Allsports, Monsoon, Sunglass Hut and WH Smith. After security there are several good duty-free stores.

A comprehensive business centre is located in Terminal 3, offering personal phone, fax and internet services, a meeting room, message taking and video conferencing, and is opened from 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Conference facilities are available, providing catering for up to 400 people (ph: +44 (0)161 489 6182).

The airport meets EU regulations for passengers with disabilities, with facilities such as specially designed toilets, dedicated parking spaces, induction loops for the hard of hearing, lowered telephones, a TDD telephone available in Terminal 1 international arrivals, and complimentary wheelchair use.

There are four information desks in total: one at each the terminal's arrival halls and another located in the departure hall of Terminal 1.
