Travelling to Nottingham

Nottingham itself does not have an airport, but the East Midlands Airport at
Castle Donington in north west Leicestershire is very convenient, just off junction
24 of the M1 motorway (from Nottingham take the A52, joining the M1 at Junction
25). The airport is served by the major regional airlines and provides connections
to Scotland and Ireland, as well as some limited European destinations.
Nottingham's main line railway station is located on Station Street, serviced
by Midland Mainline and Central Trains. The best rail connection is via Lincoln,
from which 28 trains arrive Monday through Saturday and about eight trains on
Sunday. The trip to Lincoln takes about 45 minutes from Nottingham. There are
direct trains from London's St. Pancras Station, with journey times of 2.5 hours.
Nottingham is well linked into the regional bus network, with National Express
Coaches and East Midland Coaches servicing long distance coaches. Buses from
London Victoria Coach Station arrive at Broadmarsh Coach Station in Nottingham
at the rate of about seven per day, with journey times of about 3 hours.
To drive from London, take the M1 motorway, which runs a few miles west of
Nottingham (Junction 25). The distance from London is about 200kms north, with
a journey time of about 3 hours. Manchester is about 120kms away.
