Travelling to Plymouth

There are two popular routes for driving to Plymouth from London. The faster
way is to head for Bristol via the M4, follow the M5 to Exeter, and then the
A38 to Plymouth. Alternatively, take either the M3 to Southampton or the M23
to Brighton then follow the picturesque southern coastline. Drive time from
London is around 3.5 hours.
Plymouth's train station is off Saltash Road, and there are extensive services
to destinations throughout Britain. Trains from London (Paddington) to Plymouth
take around 3.5 hours. Direct services also run from South Wales, the Midlands,
the North of England and Scotland.
A Rapide luxury coach service from London´s Victoria Coach Station (via
Heathrow Airport) takes 4.5 hours, and there are numerous other routes connecting
the city with major cities and towns across Britain. The bus station is just
over St Andrew's Cross from Royal Parade, at Bretonside.
Brittany Ferries run services to Plymouth from Roscoff (France) and Santander
(Spain), most frequently during the summer.
Plymouth Airport has direct flights from Cork, Jersey, Guernsey and London
Gatwick. Connections via Bristol can be made from Aberdeen, Newcastle, Edinburgh,
Glasgow, Dublin and Paris.
