Travelling to Reading

Reading is located in the lovely county of Berkshire, just 43 miles west of
London, and has excellent motorway, rail and coach links.
The M4 motorway linking London to Bristol, South Wales and the South West of
England runs south of the city. Further south, the M3 motorway provides a link
to the south coast. Heading north, the M40 motorway gives access to Birmingham
and the M1 and M6 routes.
Reading is a major rail hub. Trains are the best way to get to and from almost
anywhere in the UK-30 minutes from Paddington station in London by a fast and
frequent service (every 15 minutes), with rather less frequent but still excellent
services to Bristol, Devon and Cornwall, Southampton, Oxford and Birmingham.
If you prefer taking the coach, comfortable coaches leave London's Victoria
coach station for Reading several times an hour, seven days a week. Also, if
you are flying in to Heathrow Airport, there is a regular coach service from
the airport to Reading railway station, and vice versa.
It is also possible to get to Reading by narrow boat too-from Bristol and Bath
via the Kennet & Avon Canal, and from Oxford and London via the River Thames.
