Hotels Stansted Airport
Geography of Stansted Airport
The airport's location affords it convenient access to the centre of London
while also offering quick and easy access to England's eastern coastline and
the towns of Ipswich, Clacton and Southend. It is also within short driving
distance of the beautiful countryside typical of Bedfordshire and regions further
north.
With over 40 airlines serving the airport, Stansted is a major London hub for
destinations across Europe, offering frequent flights to all its major cities.
Cambridge is a 20-minute drive north along the M11 and a 40-minute drive east
along the A120 to the historic town of Colchester, one of the oldest towns in
England. Continue along the A120 to Clacton, a popular seaside family resort
about an hour's drive east of the airport. The M25 is a short drive from the
airport, which connects drivers to all major motorways out of London.
The airport has the convenience of its own train station serving frequent links
to central London as well as services to Tottenham Hale station which connects
with the London Underground for the West End en route to Liverpool Street Station.
There are also frequent services from the airport to the Midlands and Northern
England, stopping at Cambridge, Leicester and Birmingham. Change at Peterborough
for connecting trains to Leeds, York, Newcastle and further north into Scotland.
