Mini guide to Teesside Airport
Teesside International Airport is a growing regional airport offering a range
of flights across the UK and several destinations across Europe. With recent
renovations and a growing number of scheduled flights, the airport is highly
popular among locals not wishing to travel north to Newcastle Airport.
The airport consists of a single terminal that handles all international and
domestic arrivals and departures.
Thomas Cook and Callers Pegasus both operate in the main terminal building.
An ATM is located at Thomas Cook. The airport information desk is located just
inside the main entrance. Other facilities include baby change areas in both
the male and female bathrooms and a children’s play area.
Café Oasis and Yard of Ale offer a wide selection of food and drink, located
in main the terminal building, while Café Express and Yard of Ale are found
in the spacious departure lounge.
Within the terminal there is a travel agency along with WH Smith stocking a
great selection of magazines, books and confectionary. In the departure lounge
you’ll find Travel Value, World News, and Alpha Retail, which stocks books and
magazines as well as numerous duty-free goods.
The airport information centre offers phone, fax and photocopying facilities
for business travelers, while there are BMI business and diamond class lounges
in the departure lounge adjacent to Gate 4.
For disabled passengers, there are specially designed toilets, dedicated parking
spaces no more than 100 metres away from the terminal entrance, an Ambulift
for boarding aircraft and an induction loop at the airport information desk
for the hard of hearing. The terminal is constructed on one floor.
