Travelling to Torquay

Torquay is about 216 miles from London. By car it can be reached by taking
the M4 and then M5 to Exeter, after which you follow the A38 onto the A380 to
reach Torquay.
Torquay provides excellent rail and coach services to other centres on the
southwest with connections to the rest of Britain. An express train departs
hourly from London Paddington station to Exeter, where you can connect to Torquay
(duration 3 hours), while coaches from London Victoria, London Gatwick and London
Heathrow leave several times daily for Torquay.
National Express coaches also leave from London Victoria coach station several
times a day and take about five hours to reach Torquay. However, there are connections
to other places throughout Britain, with local buses servicing towns in Devon
and Cornwall.
If you are flying to Britain, it is recommended to take a flight arriving at
either Heathrow or Gatwick airports in the morning or early afternoon to give
you enough time to reach Torquay in comfort. Heathrow offers the most convenient
connection via the common station of Paddington. There are also local airports
situated at Bristol, Exeter and Plymouth. Some international flights are available
to these regional airports.
