What to see by car: Warwick

Just nine miles from Warwick lies Shakespeare Country centred round Stratford-Upon-Avon,
which features several famous Shakespeare-related sites and a world-class theatre.
Even closer are the reviving mineral baths of Royal Leamington Spa (3 miles),
and, if you haven't had your fill of castles, Kenilworth (6 miles).
The West Midlands comprise of a cluster of small counties that each feature
their own unique attractions and can easily be visited on several day trips.
Birmingham has redefined its image in recent years and now boasts some excellent
museums and Industrial Revolution heritage sites, as well as a vibrant nightlife
which includes everything from Royal Ballet productions to all-night raves.
Worcestershire lures visitors with two principal attractions, Worcester, which
is graced by a mighty cathedral, and Great Malvern, a mannered inland resort
spread along the rolling contours of the Malvern Hills.
Herefordshire claims the beautiful old market towns of Ledbury and Hay-on-Wye,
the fascinating medieval Mappa Mundi map displayed at Hereford, and the tiny
village of Ross-on-Wye, scenically located in the Wye River Valley.
Shropshire has Ludlow, noted for its antique half-timbered buildings, and the
popular hiking trails of the Long Mynd, while Derbyshire boasts the region's
finest scenery in the rough landscapes of the Peak District National Park.
