York is located 203 miles north of London, 26 miles northeast of Leeds and
88 miles north of Nottingham in the heart of Yorkshire county, and is easily
accessed by motorway, rail, coach and air links.
If you're driving from London, head north on the M1, cutting northeast below
Leeds at the junction with the A64, then head east to York.
However, if you'd rather take the train, rail services for York leave from
London's King's Cross Station every 30 minutes and take approximately two hours.
Otherwise, coaches depart several times per day, seven days a week from London's
Victoria Coach station for York. The journey takes about 4.5 hours
The closest airport to York is the Leeds/Bradford Airport, a 50-minute flight
from London's Heathrow Airport. Buses from the airport connect to points east
and finally to York.
