Geography of York

York is located approximately 200 miles north of London in the heart of beautiful Yorkshire, a county where visitors are spellbound by the majesty of the countryside, from its rugged coastline to gently rolling hills.

Near the city of York is Herriot Country, named after its most well-known inhabitant, James Herriot. East of the city is the spectacular coastline, dotted with quaint villages, and characterized by rugged cliffs, rocky outcrops and strong seas.
